The Senior Special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor on Community Communications, Mrs Mary Oso-Omotosho, has revealed that Governor Biodun Oyebanji is spearheading a series of developmental strides in the State, with a strong focus on shared prosperity.

Omotosho made the revelation while featuring in a broadcast of the radio programme 'Gbagede Oro' on ‘Our People's FM’ 104.1 in Ado Ekiti.

She stated that the Governor’s deliberate effort to support and empower local businesses has created a ripple effect of positive change throughout the State.

“One of the key highlights of Governor Oyebanji's administration is the growing trend of patronage of local talents and homegrown businesses, which has significantly contributed to the overall improvement of the state's economy and the livelihood of ordinary citizens”, she said.

Speaking further, the Governor’s aide noted that the Ekiti State Motor Dealers Association has been a major beneficiary of the government's patronage, adding that the association received support through the procurement of official vehicles for heads of administration in all Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

She also revealed that Artisans, specifically the Welders Association in the State have received significant support from the government.

“In a commendable move, Governor Oyebanji instructed the production of bed bunks for Government Special Schools to be contracted to these talented artisans. This not only boosts the local economy but also promotes the skills and craftsmanship of Ekiti's own artisans”, she said.

Omotosho added that Governor Oyebanji has again extended his wholesome patronage to Goat and Sheep Sellers Association in the State, particularly during the recently concluded Sallah.

Her words: “The government's purchase of all the rams distributed to Muslim faithful in the state played a crucial role in discouraging unnecessary price hikes by sellers during the festive period. This move ensured that the celebrations were accessible and affordable for all citizens.

“Governor Oyebanji's unwavering commitment to consistently grow the Ekiti economy through shared prosperity is a testament to his vision of ensuring that every Ekiti citizen can lead a decent and fulfilling life.

“With the support and empowerment of local businesses, as well as the promotion of talents and skills within the state, Ekiti is witnessing a transformative era of development and economic progress.”
