Engaged in an ongoing dispute with his successor, Governor Sim Fubara, Wike emphasized that aspiring politicians who wish to avoid betrayal should reconsider their entry into the political arena.
In his words:
"Why bother with shock absorbers? Marrying today might lead to a departure tomorrow. Will you succumb to despair? Life continues; you must remain resilient to marry anew. Purchase a Global 7000, and it crashes. Will you let it define your fate? Acquire a car only to have it seized by armed robbers on the road. Will you allow it to be your demise? You need resilience, your own shock absorber, to navigate through.
President Tinubu shared wisdom with me during our meeting. He highlighted the essence of caution, cautioning against trusting certain individuals. Politics and betrayal, he asserted, share a common ancestry. If betrayal is something you wish to avoid, steer clear of politics. Do not be disheartened by perceived betrayals; instead, brace yourself for the inevitable."
