A 19 years old Lady who was gangraped in Anam, Anambra West Local Government Area of the state has been rescued by Anambra state Government.
The state commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo, made it known on Saturday that the suspects have been arrested.
The apprehended suspects are: Collins Obadom (18), Abuchi Okechukwu (16), Sunday Okafor (27),Afam Ezenwa (17), Chijioke Ifeanyi (20) and Chima Obiekezie.
Mrs Obinabo said the case has been transferred to the state criminal investigative of the police for further investigation.
The victim was rescued and in collaboration with the police the suspects were all arrested.
The Commissioner lamented the high rate of crime among the youth. She enjoined the parents to bring up their wards in the right way that will be useful societies in future.
She assured the victim and her that the administration of Chukwuma Soludo will ensure justice is served to curb such occurrence.
