In a poignant twist of fate, Saheed Wahab, a Nigerian embarking on his Master's degree journey in the United Kingdom, succumbed to an untimely demise merely a day after commencing his academic pursuit. Originating from Kwara state, Wahab commenced his studies at Teesside University in the United Kingdom on January 15, 2024. Tragically, his life concluded on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, as reported by members of the Nigerians in the UK Community.
The sorrowful announcement from the community conveyed, "In the wake of the disheartening news concerning the passing of Mr. Saheed Wahab, a Teesside University student who breathed his last a day after arriving in the United Kingdom from Nigeria, we extend our heartfelt condolences. Mr. Wahab had come to embark on an MSc qualification, but destiny took an unforeseen turn, and he departed from us on Tuesday, January 16th, in Teesside. May Almighty Allah forgive his sins and welcome him back into His embrace."
Regrettably, the cause of his demise remains undisclosed.
"In our efforts to honor his memory and console his bereaved family in Nigeria, we have secured their consent to coordinate the funeral proceedings on their behalf here in the United Kingdom. We have also established contact with the coroner overseeing his remains. In the aftermath of his passing, the Janazah (funeral) ceremony is slated for Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Jamia Masjid Al Madina, 133a Waterloo Rd, Middlesbrough TS1 3JB. Given these circumstances, we earnestly seek financial support to facilitate his final rites," the statement concluded.
