Nigerian Student faces deportation after making terrorist threats in a UK University
A Masters Degree Student in the UK faces the grim prospect of a deportation.

In a shocking turn of events, Somtochukwu Okwuoha, a 26-year-old Nigerian master's student, now faces the prospect of imprisonment and deportation. A jury has pronounced him guilty of making terrorist threats against Dundee University.

As reported by the BBC, the International Energy Student asserted his connection with ISIS, a notorious terrorist group, claiming their assistance in orchestrating a bombing of the university. Furthermore, he conveyed his intentions to launch a chemical attack on the city.

Okwuoha has been convicted on seven charges and is currently in custody, awaiting sentencing in December 2023. Sheriff William Wood will also review the Crown's motion for Okwuoha's deportation to Nigeria.

During the trial, it was revealed that Okwuoha had informed university staff about his plans for mass murder on the Dundee University campus. Eyewitnesses testified to his declarations of a military background, bomb-making capabilities, and his alleged capability to unleash a deadly virus on the city.

One key witness, Keith Mackle, a retired director of student services, disclosed "serious concerns" that arose in the autumn of 2021. He mentioned receiving emails containing terrorist threats, one of which ominously stated, "Expect a massive bomb explosion at the University of Dundee. I have contacted Isis terrorists to plant bombs on campus. I can assure you staff and students will die in great numbers. 9/11 will be a joke compared to what will happen. Blood will spill and flesh will be scattered."

Additionally, Shane Taylor, an accommodation officer, testified that Okwuoha accused him of racism and expressed intentions to wipe out Scottish people as an act of revenge.

Okwuoha, currently incarcerated in Perth, was found guilty of various charges, including threatening to murder university staff, planning terrorist activities, and making false claims about planted bombs and biological weapons. The verdict also included charges of threatening to behead police officers and detonate the alleged bombs at Dundee University.
